How to stay motivated !?

Have you ever felt so motivated that you feel you can do anything ?

Have you ever felt so demotivated that you can’t do anything ?

It’s always easy to felt motivated at the start of any goal like “ yeaaah , I can do this !” And we’ll feel so pumped that we can’t ever imagine not feeling enthusiastic. But as time passes life gets in the way. We get busy we’re tired. We’re lazy there are better things to do and there are so many distractions... so despite our good intentions and our determination we stop pursuing our goals.

This is where the demise of good intentions happens. So how do we keep motivated to achieve our goals? First , we have to understand that in order to achieve anything subtantial we CANNOT depend on feelings. And the reason why we have such a difficult time with motivation is because motivation is a FEELING. Our biggest challenge is not the task or the goal no matter how big or difficult it is. Our biggest challenge is our feelings because feelings change so easily.

What the feeling of motivation does is that it gives us the initial push. It gets us started and that’s about it. So the secret to achieving our goals is more mechanical than motivational because when we lack the motivation we just need to put in the action to mechanically push through . We also cannot depend on desire , logic or even reasoning to achieve our goals . Because  most of the time we know the logical reasons of why we should do something . We can even pinpoint our faults and be extremely aware of why we are unable to do something. We know it yet we can’t over come it.

It is always a battle of the mind so the best thing to do in situations where we lack of motivation is to IGNORE the mind and put the body through the mechanical motions of doing it . Let the mind talk and complain... and reason... the body can just go ahead and do it. This applies to exercise , to work, to big goals and small everyday goals. Motivated people don’t FEEL motivated all the time they just go through the motions of doing something even on the days where they feel like stopping . Some days are easy because the feeling of motivation is high and soeme days you’re just got to push through despite the mind... despite the feeling... just don’t stop.

Remember that mechanical actions can carry us forward and carry us through to when we feel motivated again to the days where we feel pumped up and energised again. Motivations more than just mind over matter it is body over matter . We can all push through it and it’ll help us to be happy , always ! 🙂
